There are thousands of these (in written and video form) online. So, we’re sure you have a pretty good idea on what a bedtime routine consists of. However, we still want to be involved, so we’re going to chime in on this anyway. Deal with it.
Our routine is short and sweet, so this can be for those who get home late from work and only have 2-3 hours of lounging before it’s time to head to bed. Make sure to have some dinner before your prep!
To get the maximum amount of sleep possible, it’s a good idea to lay out your outfit for the next day so you won’t have to wake up earlier to think about what you’re going to wear. While you’re at it, might be good to pack up all of the things you’d need for work the next day. Do all of the thinking the night before so you can just wake up, wash up, get dressed, grab a bite and go all within 30 mins or less.
Wash the day off your face and bod. Not only will it feel great, and get you in a relaxing mood, but you should probably do it regardless to get all of the outside dirt off yourself before snuggling into bed. You can either take a quick shower or a long relaxing warm bath. With bubbles, because why not.
After your relaxing bath, make some hot tea to sip on. Is there anything better than snuggling in your comforter, sipping on some yummy tea, and watching T.V? Didn’t think so. Probably best to opt for a show that doesn’t have all of its seasons and episodes out so you don’t end up binge watching all night. So basically; let go of the Netflix, but bring on the chill. You can also just put on a favorite movie of yours that you’ve watched before, so you won’t feel like you’ll miss out on something if you fall asleep. While you’re at it, keep the lights at a very dim level, or just turn them off altogether.
If you’re one of those people who can’t relax to TV shows, read a book instead. It’ll be like when you were a kid getting tucked into bed, except you’re reading a story to yourself. Yay adulthood. Again, might be best to grab one that you’ve already read before because if the book is interesting enough you might end up reading the whole thing in one night.
There you have it. That’s literally all you need as a bedtime routine to stay time efficient and get a good night’s rest. But hey, everybody’s different; some people don’t need a routine at all and can snooze as soon as their head hits the pillow.
